Please follow the procedures below to order material:

To find whether the NAL holds a particular book, or to check the pressmark of a book you know that we have in stock, go to the union catalogue, Copac: http://copac.ac.uk/

• From the home page select ‘Search Copac without logging in’
• Enter your search terms, e.g. author, title
• Choose ‘Limit search by’ Library and select ‘V&A Museum (National Art Library)’ from the list by highlighting it
• Click on the ‘Search Copac’ button

• If there is no match for your search terms, you will see this message: Copac Search: No records Retrieved
• If your search brings back one or more results then you will see: Copac Brief Records:
• Click on the link in a record to see full details
• Scroll down to see the list of libraries holding a copy
• Click on V&A Libraries to find the NAL shelfmark/pressmark
• Make a note of the Author, Title, Date of copy and the Shelfmark/pressmark of the book
• Repeat these steps for each book you want to see (you may request up to 6 books)

Registering as a Reader
Anyone is welcome to use the NAL and to obtain a reader’s ticket, free of charge. Online registration can normally be done through the NAL catalogue in advance but due to the catalogue maintenance there are temporary procedures in place. Please bring proof of identity and proof of address with you when you visit and complete a registration form on arrival at the Library.
